I am in Oneonta New York for the above mentioned CGSUNY Fall Festival tomorrow. I have been here three hours, and already I ran into DON WITTER walking the STREETS. Tomorrow starts with us amateurs giving mini performances. …

This week’s best bets
St. Louis Post-Dispatch – MO, United States
(SBM) The St. Louis Classical Guitar Society presents the Brazilian Guitar Quartet, 8 pm Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Ethical Society, 9001 Clayton Road. …

Classical guitarist to open Macon Concert Association season
Macon Telegraph – Macon,GA,USA

Italian classical guitarist Domenico del Giudice has been noted by peers for “his precise, clear and sweet tone.”

And at his concert here Thursday to open the Macon Concert Association’s 75th season, the setting he’ll play in could well be perfectly suited for that sound.

“A classical guitar can get lost in huge space, so this is an intimate thing so everybody there will just have a good seat for it all. …

The seventh annual Classical Guitar Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 12 Ford Ave., Oneonta, and the Wilber Mansion, 11 Ford Ave. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The festival includes mini-performances and lectures by members of the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York throughout the day on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. Pakistani-born guitar virtuoso and composer Mir Ali will present a one-hour open discussion/seminar on “The Guitarist as Composer” at 11 a.m. Ali also will perform a concert of original works at 4 p.m.

Saturday’s performance line-up will culminate with a 7 p.m. concert by New York City-born guitarist and composer Mark Delpriora, featuring recently discovered music from the Segovia archives. Delpriora is co-chair of the guitar department at the Manhattan School of Music. A reception will follow the concert.
